  • ACC Forecasting During Crises Live Webinar

Product not yet rated Contains 3 Component(s) Includes a Live Web Event on 04/08/2021 at 1:00 PM (EDT)

This 60-minute ACC webinar on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EST will provide an overview on how to combine temporary forecast relationships with longer-term econometric analyses to produce aviation forecasts that bridge non-economic events and more normal times.

This ACC webinar will describe how to combine temporary forecast relationships with longer-term econometric analyses to produce aviation forecasts that bridge non-economic events and more normal times. Aviation demand reflects underlying economic activity. A common aviation demand forecasting technique involves creating a functional relationship between aviation demand and a primary forecast of economic activity. Learn how aviation forecasters create several correlations between past economic performance and aviation activity and select one that correlates better than others. Discover how this relationship is then used to relate future aviation activity to an independent forecast of the economic variable or a combination of economic variables. Non-economic events such as the pandemic or the 9/11 disasters disrupt these primary relationships. Sometimes these non-economic events affect aviation demand for an extended time. During this webinar, participants will discover why we need forecasts that reflect temporary relationships between non-economic drivers and aviation demand until normal economic drivers resume their influence.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this ACC webinar, participants will be able to:
    • Identify, interpret and evaluate independent forecasts for COVID-19 infection rates
    • Recognize non-economic trend upsetting events and evaluate their effects
    • Explain the basic value delivered by air transportation versus other modes
    • Describe temporary versus permanent changes to air transportation usage

  • ACC Using Risk Assessment Strategies for Conducting and Planning Aviation Operations During a Pandemic Live Webinar

Product not yet rated Contains 3 Component(s) Includes a Live Web Event on 03/25/2021 at 1:00 PM (EDT)

This 60-minute ACC webinar on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EST will provide an overview on the importance of creating and maintaining sustainable and healthy-built environment at airports.

Whether your airport has an SMS program or not, it is always good practice to assess risks associated with any given “change in condition." With the onset on the pandemic, two airport sponsors (who will be sharing their experiences) were very proactive in assessing the risks affecting planning and operations in an effort to mitigate associated risks and the importance of documentation throughout the process.  This ACC webinar will provide attendees with the step-by-step decisions and strategies that led to these risk assessments through discussions on these case studies. The State of Hawaii (which operates several airports) and Hollywood Burbank Airport will share their respective scenarios, decisions, lessons learned and valuable insight relative to risk assessments and the impact of a pandemic, focusing on planning and conducting day-to-day operations. This webinar will help airport operators gain a better understanding of the steps required to conduct effective risk assessments, the benefits associated with them, as well as the supporting strategies.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this ACC webinar, participants will be able to:
    ● Explain the steps to conduct a risk assessment and its associated benefits.
    ● Describe the benefits of a risk assessment to planning for - and operating during - a pandemic.
    ● Implement the risk assessment strategies for conducting and planning airport operations during a pandemic to mitigate associated risks.
    ● Demonstrate the benefits and lessons learned to executive leadership by presenting clear and meaningful advantages of risk assessment strategies.

  • ACC The Approach to Zero Net Energy and Health at Airports Live Webinar

Product not yet rated Contains 4 Component(s), Includes Credits Includes a Live Web Event on 03/18/2021 at 1:00 PM (EDT)

This 90-minute ACC webinar on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EST will provide an overview on the importance of creating and maintaining sustainable and healthy built environment at airports.

This ACC webinar will provide an overview on the importance of creating and maintaining sustainable and healthy built environment at airports. Now, more than ever, supporting the health of passengers and airport, airline and concession employees is a primary concern.  Combined with an awareness of the need to minimize airports’ contribution to global warming, this should encourage airport buildings to be (re)designed, constructed or renovated, and operated as zero net energy (ZNE) and healthy facilities. In addition to the long-term utility cost and productivity benefits, this will help give passengers the confidence to start traveling again as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this session, we will present an overview of forces supporting improved energy performance metrics (including code updates and energy technology enhancements), early design screening for zero net energy potential, and the range of energy efficiency measures that can be used to achieve zero net energy, while concurrently integrating measures to efficiently deliver clean air to the occupied airport spaces. Airport specific case studies will be presented to demonstrate the coexistence of ZNE and human health measures in completed airport buildings.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this ACC webinar, participants will be able to:
    • Apply energy (EUI) goals for new construction and major renovations.
    • Explain how to design and build for ZNE in combination with healthy building environments.
    • Describe potential ZNE and healthy building measures for airport facilities.
    • Compare goals and actual usage to benchmarked data.
