The ACC Airfield Pavement Design, Evaluation and Analysis Workshop provides participants with a three-day comprehensive and hands-on technical training program that focuses on: Airfield Pavement Design and Pavement Types; Subgrade Soils and Granular Materials; Aircraft Traffic; FAARFIELD Overview; Flexible Pavement Design; Rigid Pavement Design; Rigid Pavement Design Details; Shoulder Pavement Design; Pavement Evaluation and Overlay Considerations; Overlay Design; FAA Update on Advisory Circulars and Pavement-Related Efforts; ACR-PCR Background and Concepts; and PCR Approach for Rigid and Flexible Pavement.

Attendees will further enhance their learning throughout the workshop with interactive small group case study problem solving exercises, roundtable discussions, and networking with industry colleagues.

“This was a great workshop to learn about the FAARFIELD application and to interact with peers from all over the country. Well worth the investment in time and PDH's achieved.”

• Genevieve Long, P.E., LEED AP, Commercial Airports and Department of Defense Program Director, Applied Pavement Technology, Inc.

At the conclusion of this ACC workshop, participants will be able to:
• Explain the methodology behind rigid and flexible pavement design and evaluation.
• Apply subgrade, materials, and aircraft characteristic inputs to complete pavement designs and analyses using FAARFIELD v2.0.
• Calculate PCR values for rigid and flexible pavements using FAARFIELD v2.0.
• Describe the different types of asphalt and concrete overlay designs.
• Use characteristics of existing pavements and FAARFIELD v2.0 to develop rehabilitation designs of rigid and flexible pavements.

“This workshop should be a prerequisite to obtaining a professional engineering license if working in the aviation field.”
