There have been a lot of updates to both the regulation and technological advances of passenger moving walkways since their inception in the 50’s and 60’s. This webinar highlights the key changes to the ASME A17/CSA B44 Codes that have been made to the 2016, 2019, and 2022 editions, with a focus on moving walk systems. These include new safety devices, brake system requirements, and other changes that better meet the needs of maintainers, operators, and passengers. The presentation also touches on key elements in current industry offerings that are not fully understood within the market such as lower energy consuming units, belt versus pallet differentials, and standby speed operation.
