ACC Lunch & Learn On-Demand Webinar - Cabling the Friendly Skies – Planning a Smart Infrastructure for Airports
This complimentary ACC On-Demand Lunch & Learn webinar - generously sponsored by Paige Datacom Solutions - will take a look at the many Internet Protocol (IP) applications that are being converged on the IT network in airports – from simple data reservations to high-bandwidth wireless applications to complex security and surveillance systems. Network designers must understand the specific challenges in designing and installing a reliable infrastructure for 24/7 operations. One system glitch could affect millions of travelers. Selecting the proper IP cable and connectivity includes both fiber and copper cables. The decisions will be based on application bandwidth, power (PoE) and of course the location (distance) of the cable. This webinar will provide participants with different scenarios of cable selections and standards to consider which apply to installation best practices. To round out the webinar, a case study at a major U.S. international airport will be presented to include the design and installation challenges and solutions.
At the end of this ACC On-Demand Lunch & Learn webinar, participants will be able to:
• Understand the IP applications and cabling challenges for an airport.
• Comprehend the different choices of cables, standards and best installation practices.
• Become familiar with the resources available for the design and installation.
• Discover how leading airports are taking new approaches to long distances IP cabling challenges.
